Environment Canada has lifted a yellow warning for severe weather following a storm that swept through parts of southern Alberta on Tuesday evening. The agency had cautioned about damaging wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain as the storm progressed from Claresholm towards areas near Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.
The initial warning, issued earlier on Tuesday, highlighted the potential for a dangerous thunderstorm that could generate baseball-sized hail, causing damage to buildings and trees. A yellow watch for severe thunderstorms was still in effect from Claresholm extending east to Hays and south to the U.S. border as of Tuesday night.
