A former contestant from the X Factor, now an influencer, has appeared in court facing charges of allegedly trying to murder another content creator after a dispute outside a nightclub. Gabrielle Carrington, aged 29, was held in custody following claims that her car was involved in an incident with three pedestrians, including Klaudia Zakrzewska, known as ‘Klaudiaglam’ on Instagram, outside Inca show restaurant and bar in London’s Soho early on Sunday.
Carrington has been accused by the police of attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, inflicting actual bodily harm, dangerous driving, and driving under the influence of alcohol. The victim, Ms. Zakrzewska, is in critical condition in the hospital, while another individual, Anoush Chyche, has sustained severe injuries, and a third person, Latisha Armstrong, received minor wrist injuries.
The charges against Carrington are specific to the alleged assault on Ms. Zakrzewska, the injuries to Mr. Chyche, and the harm caused to Ms. Armstrong. Appearing at Westminster Magistrates Court today, Carrington, dressed in a grey leisure suit, was accompanied by a female security guard and only spoke to provide personal details. She did not enter any pleas during the hearing.
Family members and friends of both Carrington and Ms. Zakrzewska were present at the court session, closely monitored by security personnel. The prosecutor informed the court about the incident early on Sunday when emergency services responded to a report of a female being hit by a vehicle on Argyll Street.
According to court records, Carrington was found to be above the legal alcohol limit at the time of her arrest. District Judge Nina Tempia ordered her to remain in custody until the next hearing. Carrington gestured a heart sign to her family and friends in the gallery before being escorted back to the cells. The case is scheduled for a plea hearing at the Old Bailey on May 19.
Originally from Manchester, Carrington gained fame as a teenage participant on The X Factor in 2013 with the group “Miss Dynamix” and has since amassed a significant following on Instagram under the username “rielleuk.” Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell of Specialist Crime South expressed concern for the injured parties and urged any witnesses to provide valuable information to aid the investigation.
The police clarified that the incident is not linked to terrorism and encouraged individuals with relevant details to share them through official channels. They also cautioned against sharing graphic footage of the incident online out of respect for the victims and to avoid prejudicing legal proceedings.
