Trump’s Aide Natalie Harp and Air Force One Controversy

When President Donald Trump utilized a catering truck to discreetly transfer from Air Force One during a potential security threat in Turkey at the beginning of last month, several individuals remained aboard the aircraft. Notable figures among them were U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and the 13-member press pool.

Accompanying Trump in the move were deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino, director of Oval Office operations Walt Nauta, and executive assistant Natalie Harp, who has recently garnered media attention. Harp, aged 35, serves as a special assistant and executive aide to the president, frequently seen by his side in the Oval Office and during travels. She has been a constant presence alongside Trump since 2022, Fox News reported after Trump secured his second term.

Described as an additional pair of eyes and ears for President Trump, Harp is known for her mobile office setup that travels with him, equipped with a mobile printer to provide immediate access to articles. Her association with Trump dates back to 2019 when, as a bone cancer survivor, she commended the president for a law facilitating patient access to experimental treatments.

According to reports from New York Times journalists, Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, featured in their book “Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump,” Harp raised concern within the U.S. Secret Service during the election campaign by leaving adoring letters addressed to Trump in his private quarters.

Recently, Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff made remarks about Trump during a campaign event, suggesting that Trump prefers leisure activities over his duties, mentioning Harp and Air Force One. Trump responded to Ossoff’s comments, dismissing them and highlighting the ongoing White House renovations. White House communications director Steven Cheung criticized Ossoff, labeling him as the biggest “loser” in politics, while conservative commentators accused Ossoff of sexism.

The controversy surrounding Ossoff’s remarks has generated discussion and speculation about the relationship between Harp and Trump, with various reactions from Democrats and critics of the president. Despite the buzz created by Ossoff’s comments, there is no evidence to support any inappropriate relationship between Harp and Trump.
