Israel Airstrike Kills Palestinians, Including 3-Year-Old

An airstrike conducted by Israel resulted in the deaths of two Palestinians, including a three-year-old child, in the central Gaza Strip on Sunday, as confirmed by health officials. Medics in Gaza reported that the strike near a bakery in Deir al-Balah claimed the lives of Tayyem Hamdan, aged 3, and Hussam Nusair, along with causing injuries to several others.

The Israeli military stated that the strike targeted and eliminated a Hamas militant, alleging that Nusair was involved in attacks against Israeli forces and civilians. Meanwhile, Hamas refrained from immediate comments on the military’s claims.

Despite a ceasefire backed by the U.S. last October that brought a halt to major conflicts in the area, Israeli military actions have persisted, aiming to prevent attacks by Hamas and other Gaza-based militants. Hamas has accused Israel of breaching the ceasefire terms and obstructing the implementation of a broader plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump to resolve the Gaza conflict, which includes Israeli withdrawals and Hamas disarmament.

According to health officials in Gaza, over 1,300 Palestinians have lost their lives in Gaza since the ceasefire went into effect last October, while the Israeli military has reported the deaths of four Israeli soldiers.
