Strictly Judge Craig Revel Horwood Discusses Fears and Future Plans

Outspoken Strictly judge, Craig Revel Horwood, drew an unusual comparison to John Lennon during a candid chat with fans. Expressing concerns about potential danger, he mentioned his reluctance to participate in the American show Dancing With The Stars, fearing a tragic fate like Lennon’s assassination in 1980. Craig, aged 61, humorously remarked that he could face a similar fate due to the prevalence of firearms in the U.S.

During the launch of his new show, Revelations – Songs Boys Don’t Sing, at Chequer Mead Theatre in East Grinstead, Craig disclosed that he had declined an offer to join Dancing With The Stars. He emphasized his thriving career as a director and choreographer in stage productions, indicating his preference to focus on his theatrical pursuits rather than commit to the demanding TV show schedule.

Acknowledging the support of BBC license fee payers for his affluent lifestyle, Craig expressed gratitude for his success on Strictly, despite being portrayed as the show’s villain. He humorously mentioned the perks of playing the villain in pantomimes and the financial rewards it brings.

Craig shared that the renovation costs of his spacious Northamptonshire mansion had led to postponing his wedding plans with his partner, Jonathan Myring. Despite the delays, Craig remains optimistic about their future together and hinted at a potential marriage ceremony once their home renovations are complete.

Reflecting on past controversies, Craig recounted a confrontation with Jan Ravens’ husband at the BBC bar following her elimination from Strictly in 2006. He clarified that audience votes, not his judgments, determined her fate on the show.

Looking ahead to the upcoming Strictly season and his tour commitments, Craig expressed excitement about returning to Dancing With The Stars in Australia next year. He also mentioned his ongoing projects, including a new musical production themed around 90s music and his aspirations in the theatrical realm.

Tickets for Craig’s tour, Revelations – Songs Boys Don’t Sing, are available for booking on his website.
