Danish PM Calls Out Unsolicited Beauty Advice

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen expressed her frustration with receiving unsolicited beauty advice in a recent Instagram post. Frederiksen, who just returned from a trip to Ukraine where she experienced air raid sirens amid the ongoing conflict, shared that she has received numerous messages critiquing her appearance over the years, including comments about her teeth, hair, and a supposed “wart” on her nose, along with suggestions for Botox.

In response to a plastic surgeon’s offer to address a perceived flaw on her nose, Frederiksen posted a screenshot of the message without revealing the sender’s identity. She firmly stated, “I’m happy with my body — I really don’t need a male plastic surgeon to have an opinion about it!”

As a Social Democrat and Denmark’s second female prime minister, Frederiksen is currently serving her third term, making her one of Europe’s most seasoned leaders. She has been vocal about opposing U.S. President Donald Trump’s interests in Greenland and supporting Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.

Emphasizing her contentment with her appearance, Frederiksen urged individuals to engage in more meaningful conversations rather than focusing on superficial aspects. She acknowledged feeling indignant about the unsolicited beauty tips she has received and extended support to those dealing with societal pressures regarding physical appearance.

The prime minister’s Instagram post highlighted her stance on self-acceptance and the need to shift conversations towards substantial topics rather than superficial critiques.
