A California teacher, Cole Allen, is suspected of plotting an attack on President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington DC. The incident led to Trump and other officials being evacuated as Allen allegedly breached security and fired shots in the building’s foyer. Allen, a part-time tutor and games developer, was apprehended at the scene and is set to face charges in Washington.
Recent social media posts by Allen, a graduate of the California Institute of Technology, have come to light. Under the username ‘Coldforce’, Allen referred to Trump as a “sociopathic mob boss” and a “satanic idolator” in posts on the BlueSky platform. He also criticized Vice President JD Vance and Trump’s administration in his online comments.
Authorities disclosed that Allen traveled from California to Washington via Chicago before the attack. He checked into the hotel hosting the gala dinner where the incident occurred, reportedly acting alone. During the attack, Allen attempted to reach the ballroom but was stopped by Secret Service agents, leading to a confrontation with shots fired. The US Attorney General indicated that Allen targeted individuals in the administration, possibly including the president.
In response, Trump mentioned on his Truth Social platform that the incident highlighted the need for his proposed East Wing modifications to enhance security. He claimed that with the planned “Militarily Top Secret Ballroom,” such events could be prevented in the future.
