Armed police responded to an incident at a holiday park in Cornwall where a woman was reportedly assaulted by a man wielding a knife. The Devon and Cornwall Police received the call about the assault near Looe on Friday, just before 12:30 pm. The victim, who suffered knife injuries, was taken to the hospital for treatment and was later discharged the same day.
A 43-year-old man from Plymouth was apprehended on Saturday on suspicion of causing bodily harm following a search at the holiday park and in the Southway area of Plymouth. He has been released on bail while further investigations are ongoing.
According to Devon and Cornwall Police, the authorities were alerted to the assault at the holiday park near Looe on April 17. The woman was treated for her injuries and discharged from the hospital. The suspect, believed to be armed, fled the scene, prompting a search by officers, including armed units, in the vicinity and in Plymouth. Subsequently, the 43-year-old suspect was arrested on April 18 for alleged assault causing bodily harm and has been released on bail pending additional inquiries.
