“Freeview TV Guide Update: Channel Changes and Closure of Talk Channel”

Freeview has announced changes to its TV guide, including channel repositioning and a rename. A major update is the closure of the Talk channel (Ch 280) on Freeview, known for its focus on debate, opinion-led journalism, and politics. Viewers can now access this service via the official Talk app or other platforms like Samsung TVs, Roku devices, and LG screens.

In addition to this change, Wedotv Big Stories on channel 275 will now be known as Wedotv. Furthermore, three services will be moving to new spots on the planner. Ketchup TV, Ketchup Too, and Cartoon Classics will see changes in their channel numbers, with Ketchup TV moving from Ch 209 to Ch 208, Ketchup Too shifting from Ch 210 to Ch 209, and Cartoon Classics relocating from Ch 214 to Ch 210.

Freeview stated, “On 25th June 2026, some broadcasters will be adjusting their channels.” Channels on Freeview undergo continuous evolution, with channels making decisions to relocate, add, or remove content to offer audiences a diverse viewing experience.

To ensure that your TV displays the correct channels, it is recommended to access the settings and perform a retune. Freeview advises users to retune their TVs to update and maintain an up-to-date TV Guide.

For those needing guidance on how to retune their TV:
– Press the menu button on your box or TV remote control.
– Select options like ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, or ‘update’.
– Opt for ‘first-time installation’ or similar settings.
– Confirm the deletion of existing channels and save the new channels found during the retune process.
