“Deadly Shooting at Leinbach Park: Two Killed, Multiple Injured”

Police in a North Carolina town rushed to Leinbach Park following a planned altercation that turned into a deadly shooting incident, resulting in two fatalities. The clash, involving several young individuals, also caused multiple injuries according to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NC SBI). The NC SBI classified the event as a mass shooting, with two confirmed deaths.

While the total number of victims is yet to be confirmed by Winston-Salem police, the NC SBI mentioned that “several people” were shot during the incident. Authorities clarified that the shooting occurred near Jefferson Middle School, not on school grounds, and urged people to avoid the area temporarily.

Investigators cautioned against the use of personal drones in the vicinity to prevent interference with emergency operations. They are utilizing police drones to locate the individuals involved in the altercation. Several individuals, including victims and suspects, have been identified, but efforts are ongoing to ensure accountability due to the large number of people involved. The police department noted that some of the individuals implicated are minors.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a pre-planned confrontation among young individuals at the park escalated into a shootout, resulting in multiple casualties. The suspects involved in the incident are still at large. The police emphasized that the investigation is active and ongoing, with a significant law enforcement presence around Leinbach Park and Sally Kirk Rd.

Although nearby schools are operating normally, authorities advised the community to steer clear of the area to facilitate safe emergency response operations. They also urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious behavior.
