British Tourist Hospitalized After Falling Into Hotel Fish Pond

A British visitor was swiftly taken to the hospital after plunging from the second story of his Lanzarote hotel into a shallow fish pond teeming with Koi carp and terrapins. Responders, including firefighters and medical personnel, were called to assist the vacationer at the upscale H10 Rubicon Horizons Collection in Playa Blanca. The incident occurred late on Saturday night, with the man, aged 70, accidentally falling into the fish pond located near a hotel buffet restaurant on a lower level.

Initial reports indicated that the man, accompanied by his wife, lost his balance while peering down at the fish pond from the second floor. Emergency responders had already secured the tourist with a neck brace and safely lifted him out using a rescue board before transporting him to a waiting ambulance. He was subsequently transferred to Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote, though his current condition remains undisclosed.

Following the accident, local authorities, including police and Civil Guard officers, were activated by an emergency response center. The hotel, formerly known as H10 Rubicon Palace, declined to provide any details citing client confidentiality. Positioned as an adult-only seaside resort, the hotel boasts a five-star rating and draws inspiration from the unique design elements of Lanzarote. Playa Blanca, situated in the southern part of Lanzarote, is a favored destination among British travelers.
