Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and perform a retune on their devices following the recent update rollout. The UK TV platform has introduced changes to the channel lineup and TV guide. Freeview has highlighted the necessity for a retune as some broadcasters are implementing adjustments this week to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.
The update includes four key changes. Firstly, three channels have been rebranded with new names, enhancing the browsing experience on the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now known as That’s 20th Century, offering music from previous decades and featuring iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now simply known as That’s Classics.
In addition to the rebrands, a new channel, That’s Entertainment, is set to launch on Channel 75. While specific program details are not widely available yet, Freeview expects to provide more information soon. Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of the ongoing changes by broadcasters to ensure diverse and current content offerings.
To view the changes on the TV planner, Freeview users are encouraged to follow these steps to retune their devices if necessary:
– Press the menu button on the remote
– Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option
– Enter the PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000)
– Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune”
– Confirm the deletion of existing channels
– Allow the device to automatically search for and store the updated channels
Although Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is significant, prompting users to retune promptly to stay up to date.
