“Tesco Pharmacies: Your One-Stop Health Hub”

When it comes to maintaining good health, seeking additional support and guidance can be beneficial. Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK and catering to over half a million customers weekly, is readily available to assist individuals. Whether it’s picking up prescriptions, utilizing their wide range of healthcare services, or consulting with their knowledgeable pharmacists while doing your regular shopping, Tesco makes it convenient for you.

Balancing essential health check-ups with a busy schedule can be challenging for many people. Relying on online information for complex health concerns can sometimes add to the stress rather than provide reassurance when time is limited. “To address this, we offer prompt and convenient pharmacy services, health advice, and a variety of health and wellness products in our pharmacies for customers to access while they are already in the store,” explains Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.

From flu vaccinations and vaccines to weight management programs, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies serve as a one-stop destination for friendly guidance. “Just a brief visit to the store can offer essential reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” mentions Tom.

In addition to addressing common ailments such as sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs, pharmacists can help save time by recommending treatments through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

For more chronic health issues, Tesco Pharmacists, equipped with additional training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation, offer information and support to raise awareness and reduce the risks of cancer, heart and circulatory diseases, and type 2 diabetes. “Customers can approach the pharmacy counter and request to speak with the pharmacist wearing a Let’s Talk badge,” Tom reveals.

“Our pharmacy teams are readily available for quick and friendly walk-in blood pressure checks for those concerned about their heart health – no appointment needed,” Tom adds. “A short visit to the store can provide peace of mind or prompt early intervention if required.”

Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests for customers this year, showcasing the significant impact of this service. Apart from customers, Tesco colleagues can also benefit from the convenience of in-store pharmacy services and other health offerings.

“All colleagues have access to virtual GP consultations and additional support for areas like sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme,” Tom highlights.
