This places it on track to become one of the top-grossing movies of all time alongside “The Odyssey,” which currently holds the title of the highest-grossing movie of the year, surpassing “Toy Story 5.”
With its impending release in China, where it is expected to draw massive audiences, “The Odyssey” is set to further increase its revenue. The film’s utilization of Imax technology has contributed to its global appeal and success, aligning with the rising popularity of Imax formats in the entertainment industry. Only a limited number of theaters worldwide, including nine in Canada, can showcase films in the coveted Imax 70mm format, a format that Nolan has fully embraced in “The Odyssey.”
