“Wren Kitchens Closes US Stores, Exits Market”

Wren Kitchens has suddenly closed all 15 of its stores following a recent declaration of bankruptcy liquidation. This move has resulted in all employees at these locations losing their jobs as the British company exits the US market.

The leading kitchen retailer in the UK has shut down its East Coast US showrooms and Wren Kitchen Studios within Home Depot stores. The closures come after the company initiated the Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation process in the US.

The bankruptcy filing took place on April 24, allowing Wren to settle its debts by selling off assets to repay creditors. Home Depot confirmed that Wren Kitchens had ceased operations in the US, including closing showrooms in their stores, with no prior notice given to the retailer.

In a statement, Wren mentioned their decision to withdraw from the US market to focus on strengthening their core UK business, which has been showing significant growth. The US business, as a separate legal entity, accounted for approximately 4% of the group’s total turnover but faced challenges in expanding its retail presence due to unsuccessful negotiations.

CEO Mark Pullan expressed regret over the impact on US colleagues and customers, emphasizing their commitment to enhancing the UK business, which recently achieved a £1 billion turnover milestone. Despite global uncertainties, Wren remains confident in the UK market and plans to expand with new showrooms and product offerings.

The closure announcement on the Wren website informed customers of the shutdown and provided a form for assistance inquiries. Wren US Holdings Inc., a family-run business, filed for bankruptcy in the US, listing assets between £73 million and £370 million.

Reports indicated that staff at Wren outlets were unaware of the closures beforehand, leaving customers uncertain about refunds for payments made. Some customers are now facing unresolved kitchen orders after paying in full. As of early 2026, Wren Kitchens operated over 110 showrooms across the UK.

With a focus on rapid growth and nationwide presence, Wren Kitchens aimed to establish a significant presence in major towns and cities. The Mirror has reached out to Wren Kitchens for further comments.
