A British woman has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for holding another woman captive in her home for 25 years. The captive woman, who was abducted at 16 and kept as a ‘family slave’ for decades, endured physical and psychological torment at the hands of Wixon. The victim’s rescue in 2021 revealed the extent of her suffering, with bodycam footage showing her in a distressed state after years of mistreatment. The court also learned that Wixon diverted the victim’s benefits for personal gain while subjecting her to inhumane conditions.
Despite enduring years of abuse, the victim has shown resilience and progress since her rescue. She has moved in with a foster family, received dental care, and is rebuilding her life. However, the trauma of her ordeal continues, with nightmares and a compulsion for cleanliness ingrained by her captor.
