In the early morning of August 14, 2023, a hotel security guard at BH Mallorca Resort in Magaluf stumbled upon a disturbing scene. An 18-year-old girl was the victim of a brutal gang rape by a group referred to as a “wolf pack,” consisting of seven French men and one Swiss national. These individuals were determined to humiliate and violate the British teenager. Prior to their rape trial, the perpetrators reached a plea bargain agreement with prosecutors, leading to prison sentences totaling over 73 years to avoid potentially facing more than 150 years in jail if convicted.
During the investigation, shocking details emerged about the 30-minute assault, where all eight men, aged between 18 and 26 at the time of their arrests, refused to cooperate with law enforcement, maintaining their silence during interviews and court proceedings. Despite their reluctance to speak, video evidence captured by the group revealed the horrific nature of the attack on the unnamed survivor, which took place near Magaluf’s popular party area.
The incident was discovered around 5 a.m. when a hotel security guard started his shift and found the distressed teenager in the lobby. The police were promptly alerted and responded within minutes to assist the victim. She received immediate medical attention and counseling, with medical staff noting signs of physical trauma on her arms, indicating the severity of her ordeal.
Court documents detailed the heinous acts committed by the perpetrators, including oral penetration and rape, leading to varying prison sentences for each individual involved. The videos recorded by the group during the assault provided crucial evidence for their prosecution. The men were also ordered to compensate the survivor with over €100,000 (£86,000).
Following their sentencing, some of the convicted men were granted bail, while others remained in prison pending further legal proceedings. Despite the severity of their crimes, certain individuals may not return to prison due to time served while awaiting trial. The defense lawyers for those still incarcerated are expected to request their release from Spain after serving a portion of their sentences.
