“Welsh Mother Fighting for Life in Tenerife Hospital”

A mother from North Wales is fighting for her life in a hospital after falling seriously ill at an airport on a holiday island. Jade Bird, aged 33, was on a vacation in Tenerife and was supposed to return home last Wednesday. However, she fell ill at the airport, experiencing a severe headache and earache.

Medical professionals called for an ambulance upon realizing the gravity of her condition and swiftly transported her to the hospital. A scan revealed a brain infection, leading to her being placed in an induced coma. The infection has since developed into meningitis.

To support Jade, who works as a caregiver for vulnerable adults, and her family, a GoFundMe page has been created. Her sister-in-law and mother have traveled to Tenerife to be with her, aiming to bring her home. The cost of a medical evacuation is estimated to be over £50,000.

Jade’s family is facing a challenging situation, with limited financial resources for continued stay in Tenerife. The GoFundMe campaign has already raised over £7,500. They are desperate to bring Jade back home to be with her young daughter.

Victoria, Jade’s sister-in-law, expressed their deep concern and plea for help in covering the significant costs involved in bringing Jade back. The family is determined to reunite Jade with her daughter and loved ones but are financially constrained.

The current situation has been emotionally taxing for the family, especially as they contemplate breaking the news to Jade’s daughter. They are hopeful for support from the community to help bring Jade back home where she can receive the necessary care surrounded by her family.
