Warwick Davis was visibly proud today when he was honored with an OBE by Prince William. The esteemed 56-year-old actor was recognized for his remarkable contributions to the fields of drama and charity.
Dressed in an elegant navy suit and polished black shoes, Warwick, known for his extensive TV and film credits, met Prince William at Windsor Castle. The prince, who is set to be king, presented Warwick with the prestigious medal. Warwick’s daughter, Annabelle, 27, and son, Harrison, 21, were present at the ceremony, witnessing their father’s well-deserved recognition with pride.
The star of the Harry Potter franchise described the OBE as a “quiet acknowledgment” of his past accomplishments. In an interview with Times Radio, Warwick expressed his gratitude, stating, “It’s a very dignified honor. It’s not flashy like a BAFTA; it’s a subtle recognition of my contributions to the entertainment industry and charitable endeavors.” He added, “I never pursued awards; I do what I do simply because I enjoy it.”
In 2012, Warwick co-founded Little People UK, a charity supporting individuals with dwarfism and their families. He established this organization with his late wife, Samantha, who passed away in 2024. Warwick dedicated his 2025 BAFTA Fellowship to Samantha, emphasizing her immense support throughout his career.
Reflecting on Samantha’s passing, Warwick expressed the profound impact she had on his life, referring to her as his “most trusted confidant” and a strong advocate of his professional pursuits. He credited her as the source of his strength, likening her presence to having a “superpower.” Following Samantha’s battle with sepsis, meningitis, and Strep B infections in 2018, Warwick actively supported The UK Sepsis Trust, raising awareness about the condition and offering heartfelt messages of support for those affected.
