“Victim Turned Perpetrator: Burglary Victim Arrested for Drug Offenses”

Police responding to a knifepoint burglary arrested the victim, Morgan Carter, after discovering drugs at his residence. The 25-year-old reported being threatened and robbed by two masked men who took cash, a Rolex watch, designer apparel, and a sovereign ring. During the investigation, officers detected a strong cannabis odor and found drug paraphernalia, including cocaine and an unusually heavy jacket.

Carter appeared nervous when questioned and consented to a search that revealed a significant amount of cocaine, cash, and incriminating messages on his phone related to drug supply. He admitted guilt to charges of drug supply, possession with intent to supply, possessing criminal proceeds, and weapon possession.

Having a prior drug conviction, Carter received a suspended sentence in 2022 but resumed drug-related activities. Despite having family support and a job, he turned to drug dealing to settle debts. The judge sentenced Carter to two-and-a-half years in prison, emphasizing the need to break away from drug involvement to avoid longer sentences in the future.
