“Tragic Cabin Deaths of Teenagers Spark Investigation”

Two teenagers are believed to have passed away due to carbon monoxide poisoning in a cabin known as the ‘man cave’ while on a family vacation at a country park near Bridlington, as confirmed by a coroner.

During the initial hearing of their inquests, it was disclosed that Cherish Bean, 15, and Ethan Slater, 17, had ventured from their family’s main cabin to watch TV together in a smaller cabin called the ‘man cave’. Cherish returned to her mother about 50 minutes later complaining of a headache, received Calpol, and went back to Cabin 31, where she texted her mother ‘goodnight’ and expressed her love.

Authorities mentioned that a boiler was removed from the property at Little Eden Holiday Park in Bridlington following the tragic incident on February 18th. Cherish’s mother described her as the “perfect girl,” while Ethan was praised as “the most beautiful young man to walk the earth.”

During a hearing in Hull, Senior Coroner Paul Marks extended his condolences to the families of Ethan Harry Slater and Cherish Adele Bean for their untimely and unfortunate deaths. The teenagers were found deceased in Cabin 31, also known as the ‘man cave’, during their stay at Little Eden Country Park in Carnaby.

The coroner expressed that the deaths occurred on February 17, 2026, while the family was on vacation and both teenagers were in good health. Cherish went to the smaller cabin with Ethan to watch TV at 9:00 PM. She returned to the main cabin at 9:50 PM with a headache, spoke to her mother, took Calpol, and then texted her mother at 10:00 PM before going to bed. Ethan also returned to the cabin around the same time.

Detective Chief Inspector Ben Robinson provided an update on the investigation during the hearing, mentioning a fourth arrest related to the case. The investigation included interviews with individuals associated with the management and maintenance of Little Eden Country Park, along with witness accounts and information from previous park visitors.

The officer confirmed that the ‘Man Cave’ referred to Cabin 31 and detailed the removal of a boiler from the location. National Crime Agency guidance was sought concerning the investigation into potential gross negligence manslaughter linked to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Amid the ongoing investigation, Humberside Police revealed the arrest of a 41-year-old man and the conditional bail of three other individuals aged 27, 33, and 42. The families of the deceased teenagers were being updated on the progress of the investigation.

A fundraising page for Ethan’s family has raised nearly £20,000, commemorating his life and character. Cherish’s mother also paid tribute to her daughter, expressing deep sorrow and requesting privacy during their grieving process. The coroner has postponed further inquests until the police probe concludes.
