“Thick Fog Warning in East England: Drive Safely!”

Drivers are advised to be cautious this morning as thick fog is affecting various areas. The fog is most severe in Norfolk and Suffolk in the East of England, leading to visibility dropping to 100 meters or less in some places, making road conditions dangerous.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Norfolk and Suffolk, stating that visibility will vary across the region, with low cloud on hills likely causing the worst visibility. However, the fog is expected to gradually lift during the morning, with visibility improving by mid-morning.

Although the fog is expected to clear by lunchtime, the afternoon in the East and Southeast of England is predicted to be pleasant, with temperatures reaching 16°C. This sunny weather follows the warm days experienced on Monday and Tuesday.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution in the foggy conditions. The Met Office emphasized that early morning fog may create challenging driving conditions, especially in rural areas. Travel disruptions are anticipated in the East of England, with delays possible on bus and train services, and drivers advised to be prepared for sudden changes in visibility.

To navigate through the fog safely, the Met Office recommends checking road conditions, allowing extra travel time, and adjusting plans accordingly. It is essential to ensure fog lights are functional before starting a journey and to stay updated on travel alerts from transportation providers.

As the fog lifts, the sunniest weather will be in the Southeast of England, including Greater London, Kent, and Surrey, where temperatures are expected to reach 16°C. Rain is expected to move in on Thursday, starting in the northwest and gradually spreading southeast, with heavier showers and possible thunderstorms in west and central Wales.
