Distinctive tattoos are being used by authorities to help identify a man who was discovered deceased in a wheelie bin, possibly as a result of being struck by a vehicle. The police are urgently seeking assistance from the public following the grim discovery of the victim, estimated to be between 40 and 50 years old, in Cash’s Park off Daimler Road in Coventry on Friday evening.
The man was located in a Coventry City Council wheelie bin with a green lid, prompting police to investigate the bin’s origin. Law enforcement suspects that the man may have been struck by a vehicle and then moved to the park.
West Midlands Police have disclosed details about the man’s tattoos in an effort to identify him. Notably, he bears a tattoo of a cross with a snake coiled around it on his back, accompanied by the inscription “Little Stardust.” Additionally, his right arm displays a tattoo reading ‘nan’ alongside a clover and the hues of the Irish flag.
DCI Phil Poole, who is heading the investigation, emphasized the intensive efforts being made to unravel the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, establish his identity, and determine accountability. He urged individuals who recognize the distinctive tattoos or have noticed unexplained vehicular damage or behavioral changes in acquaintances to come forward with information.
Those with relevant details or potential dashcam or CCTV footage from the vicinity are encouraged to contact the authorities at 101, quoting log 4148 of 13 March.
