“Strictly Come Dancing Star Battles Post-Stroke Mobility”

A renowned figure from the show “Strictly Come Dancing” is facing mobility challenges following a stroke. Jane Bullock, aged 60, who is recognized for mentoring numerous professional dancers on the BBC, had established a strong reputation within the ballroom dancing community.

Last August, after conducting a dance class, Jane collapsed at home while attending to household tasks. Her spouse, Warren, expressed that her life drastically changed within moments.

During a recent interview, Warren detailed how Jane struggled to move across the room before falling suddenly. He quickly noticed symptoms of a stroke as Jane exhibited facial drooping and limited use of one arm and leg.

Jane was swiftly taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton and later transferred to a specialized unit at Royal Stoke University Hospital. Medical assessments revealed a blood clot in her carotid artery, responsible for supplying oxygenated blood to the brain, neck, and face.

Subsequent brain scans unveiled that Jane had also experienced a midline shift, requiring surgical removal of part of her skull to alleviate swelling. Warren informed BBC News that she spent nearly a month on life support and a ventilator.

Over the past seven months, Jane has undergone extensive hospital and rehabilitation treatments at West Park Hospital. The stroke has left her with paralysis on her left side, along with cognitive impairments such as an inability to tell time or operate a TV remote.

Expressing concern, Warren mentioned that Jane’s imminent discharge from the hospital raises worries about the lack of support, given their children live far away and the high costs associated with professional care.

He emphasized the financial strain, revealing that suggestions to provide 24-hour care would require him to give up his job, a cost exceeding £2,000 weekly, which is unfeasible for him.

Warren shared, “It has not only devastated her life but has also profoundly impacted mine. I persevere because she relies on me entirely. I’m juggling both our responsibilities, compounded by the loss of her income, leading to emotional and financial hardships.”

He further expressed his commitment to enhancing Jane’s quality of life, highlighting the overwhelming support received from a fundraiser that has garnered over £46,000 to assist in home modifications and Jane’s care needs.

In a GoFundMe post, Warren emotionally recounted the traumatic experience of Jane’s stroke and the challenging
