The passing of a businessman who was previously wed to a well-known TV personality has sparked unsettling speculations of a supposed “ring of death” within a cluster of affluent acquaintances. Property magnate Scot Young met his demise in 2014 after a fatal fall from a fourth-floor window onto railings outside a posh apartment complex in central London. The 52-year-old’s tragic end was witnessed as a gruesome and violent scene.
Although authorities initially ruled out foul play in the investigation, the situation garnered fresh attention when it surfaced that multiple individuals within Young’s social and business network had also met mysterious or tragic fates over a brief period. Young was part of a cohort of prosperous entrepreneurs with ties to Russian oligarchs and high-stakes property transactions.
Several men associated with Young, including Johnny Elichaoff, Boris Berezovsky, Robert Curtis, and Paul Castle, experienced apparent suicides subsequent to financial setbacks. The series of deaths prompted concerns among friends, with one insider hinting at the possibility of a worrisome “ring of death.”
Johnny Elichaoff, who was previously married to TV star Trinny Woodall, met his end in November 2014 by falling from the roof of the former Whiteleys department store in west London. The 55-year-old, a financial advisor and antique dealer, had reportedly shared a friendship with Young. Although authorities deemed his passing non-suspicious, close associates expressed shock, finding his actions out of character.
Reports initially suggested gunshots accompanied Elichaoff’s demise, but a witness later clarified that she observed him alone on the roof, deliberately propelling himself off. Further investigations revealed his struggle with prescription drug addiction and a recent placement under the Mental Health Act.
Trinny Woodall, known for her role in “What Not To Wear,” had been married to Elichaoff from 1999 to 2009, with their 23-year-old daughter, Lyla. Reflecting on the impact of his death, Trinny disclosed that the tragedy spurred her to found her company, Trinny London.
The circle also included Russian magnate Boris Berezovsky, a vocal critic of Vladimir Putin. Berezovsky was discovered deceased at his Berkshire residence in 2013, with a ligature around his neck. An inquest returned an open verdict due to inconclusive evidence on whether his demise was a suicide.
Furthermore, two other property developers associated with Young experienced unfortunate fatalities. Robert Curtis lost his life after falling under a Tube train in north-west London in 2012, while Paul Castle, known for his connections to Prince Charles, succumbed to being struck by a Tube train two years earlier.
All three men, engaged in real estate endeavors linked to affluent Russian investors, encountered financial struggles. Young himself faced financial strain amid a prolonged divorce battle with his estranged wife, Michelle Young, resulting in bankruptcy and significant debts.
The sequence of deaths prompted speculation regarding potential ties beyond business and companionship. While claims of intimidation by the Russian mafia surfaced, no public evidence supported such allegations. Authorities maintained that none of the incidents were treated as suspicious, with no established link through police investigations.
