A woman shared her near-death experience due to complications from breast implants that leaked silicone into her body. Carol Paredes underwent the procedure to enhance her B-cup chest but faced severe health issues shortly after, leading to emergency surgery to remove the implants. The 52-year-old, who initially spent £3,600 on the surgery in 2016, struggled with various health problems, including paralysis and arthritis, which doctors initially attributed to stress.
Despite trying various treatments without success, Carol eventually discovered that her mysterious symptoms were linked to the breast implants. An MRI confirmed a ruptured implant leaking silicone, prompting urgent removal. Following the removal process, Carol faced additional health challenges, including dislocated hips and an infection that necessitated open-heart surgery.
The extensive medical procedures left Carol in significant debt, forcing her to seek financial support through crowdfunding and selling her belongings. While she continues to experience some lingering effects from the implants, she is grateful to be free from the excruciating pain she endured. Carol now shares her story on social media to raise awareness about the risks associated with cosmetic surgeries and advises others to prioritize their health over pursuing perceived perfection.
