Severe UK Winds Force Flight Diversions

A Ryanair flight had to divert from its intended destination in Manchester due to difficulties landing in severe winds. The aircraft, traveling from Lisbon, made multiple landing attempts before changing course to Newcastle for a successful landing. Flight monitoring data showed the plane circling above Manchester and Lancashire before heading to Newcastle. The pilot reported challenging weather conditions with showers and gusty winds.

In the UK, a weather alert was issued for powerful winds and heavy rain, with gusts up to 70mph forecasted. Another incident involved an easyJet flight bound for Edinburgh, which was redirected to Manchester due to turbulent weather conditions exceeding safety limits. Passengers were provided coach transport back to Edinburgh. Scotland and parts of England were under a yellow wind weather warning until the evening, with gusts of 50-55mph expected.

The easyJet spokesperson stated that the safety of passengers and crew is a top priority and apologized for any inconvenience caused by the weather conditions. Overall, these flight diversions took place amidst challenging weather conditions affecting various parts of the UK.
