A Russian meteorologist has predicted advantageous weather conditions for a potential nuclear strike on a town in the UK. Yevgeny Tishkovets, known for incorporating forecasts of attacks against Britain and Europe into his state television weather reports, recommended targeting Farnborough in Hampshire based on current weather patterns.
During one of his broadcasts reaching viewers across Russia’s 11 time zones, Tishkovets highlighted the wind direction as conducive for a wide range of weapons, including low-yield nuclear arms. He emphasized that the prevailing east-west wind flow in the lower troposphere would facilitate the spread of radiation towards European countries.
Drawing from his 20 years of service in the Russian army, Tishkovets expressed enthusiasm about how the weather conditions could enhance the impact of a nuclear explosion on the European continent. He criticized recent Ukrainian strikes using British-French cruise missiles on Bryansk, a city near Russia’s border, which severely damaged a microelectronics plant crucial for Russian missile production.
The pro-Putin meteorologist condemned the Ukrainian attacks and called on the Russian Defence Ministry to retaliate by targeting factories in Western countries, specifically mentioning the MBDA’s HQ in Le Plessis-Robinson, France, and the town of Farnborough in England where stealth long-range missiles are manufactured.
Tishkovets, 51, made these alarming statements during an appearance on Solovyov LiveTV, a channel associated with prominent Putin supporter Vladimir Solovyov and broadcasted via VGTRK – the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. The channel took over Euronews’ frequencies in April 2022 following the commencement of Putin’s military actions in Ukraine.
Solovyov, a fervent Putin advocate and highly paid media personality, has ties to Britain, having chosen to have some of his children educated there.
