GB News presenter Camilla Tominey made an unexpected announcement during her show this morning regarding Prince William. She paused the regular broadcast to reveal that the Prince of Wales shared a never-before-seen photo of his late mother, Princess Diana, from 1984 on Mother’s Day. The touching caption on the image read, “Thinking of all those who are remembering someone they love today.”
Camilla informed the audience that Prince William had posted the undisclosed picture of himself and Princess Diana to commemorate Mothering Sunday. She shared the caption from the post, which expressed William’s thoughts about his mother and extended Mother’s Day wishes to all.
The broadcaster mentioned that this year would have been Princess Diana’s 65th birthday, and the photograph showed a young Prince William in a field of flowers at Highgrove in 1985. Camilla also took a moment to wish all mothers a happy Mother’s Day before returning to the regular program.
Tragically, Princess Diana passed away at the age of 36 in a car accident in Paris in 1997, leading to worldwide mourning. Her sons, William and Prince Harry, were teenagers at the time of her death.
Both princes have openly shared their deep love for their mother and the pain of her absence over the years. William has spoken about ensuring his own children, George, Charlotte, and Louis, know about their late grandmother and how he continues her charitable work, particularly with homelessness causes.
In a documentary titled “Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy,” William expressed his commitment to keeping Diana’s memory alive for his children. He mentioned sharing stories about “Granny Diana” with his kids before bedtime to remind them of her presence in their lives.
The Royal Family’s official account also paid tribute on Mother’s Day with a collection of black and white photos of the late Queen Elizabeth II, sending warm wishes to all mothers and those missing their moms on the occasion.
