Postal Worker Tragically Swept to Sea on Vacation

A British postal worker on vacation met a tragic end after being swept into rocks by an unexpected wave while swimming in Costa Adeje, Tenerife. Rose Buck, 56, who was known for her swimming skills, opted for the “blue lagoon beach” when the hotel pool was closed. Unfortunately, a seismic event triggered a sudden wave that pushed her against the shore, leaving her unconscious with a severe neck injury.

Despite efforts by lifeguards and medical personnel, Rose succumbed to her injuries after her family made the difficult decision to discontinue life support due to extensive brain damage. The incident occurred following a 4.1 magnitude earthquake in Tenerife, leading to speculation that the earthquake might have caused the fatal wave.

Rose’s daughter, Chantelle Buck-Forrest, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of her mother, describing her as an avid swimmer whose love for swimming brought her solace. Chantelle highlighted the overwhelming support from people worldwide and initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist the family during this challenging time.

Reflecting on the tragedy, Chantelle emphasized the outpouring of love and tributes for her mother, noting the impact Rose had on countless lives. She found solace in the support received, particularly poignant as Rose passed away on International Women’s Day, symbolizing a tribute to her mother’s strength and spirit.
