“Police Investigate Gruesome Discovery Near Bank”

The discovery of two human heads near a bank has prompted a police investigation into the disturbing incident.

Authorities quickly responded to the location in Culiacan, Sinaloa after the initial head was found inside a black box on the outskirts of Tepuche, a Mexican town where a branch of the Bienestar bank is situated.

During the ongoing investigation at the scene the next day, a second head was discovered just a few meters away. Both heads have been collected for forensic analysis. Media reports suggest that one of the victims, a 23-year-old individual who had been reported missing, is linked to the incident. The second victim is also believed to be a resident of the town.

The recent surge in violence in Mexico follows the death of El Mencho, the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, in a military operation last month.

El Mencho, one of Mexico’s most powerful cartel leaders and a high-priority fugitive for the United States, met his demise during an operation in Jalisco state, marking a significant blow against cartels since the apprehension of former Sinaloa Cartel boss Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman a decade ago.

Ricardo Trevilla, Mexico’s defense secretary, revealed that a coordinated operation involving the army, national guard, air force, and special forces targeted El Mencho in Jalisco state based on intelligence obtained through one of his associates. The operation resulted in a confrontation where federal forces neutralized eight cartel members. El Mencho and two bodyguards sustained injuries and later succumbed during transport to Mexico City. Additionally, authorities seized rocket launchers capable of downing aircraft and destroying armored vehicles at the scene.

Omar García Harfuch, the security secretary in Claudia Sheinbaum’s administration in Mexico, emphasized a “zero impunity” stance against drug traffickers. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has issued warnings of increased tariffs unless Mexico takes concrete actions to curb drug trafficking across the US border.

Former DEA international operations chief, Mike Vigil, commended Mexico for its aggressive stance against powerful cartels, attributing the success of the operation against El Mencho to the Mexican armed forces’ efforts.
