“Overcoming Endometriosis: A Journey of Pain, Advocacy, and Hope”

Living with endometriosis has been an agonizing, debilitating, and embarrassing journey for me. I share my experience to prevent other women from enduring the same struggles. The constant flare-ups made me lose trust in my body and daily life became overwhelming. Even simple tasks like leaving the house or enjoying meals became sources of stress. Seeking help from doctors often led to dismissive responses, with some attributing my symptoms to psychological causes. However, the severity of my symptoms, including prolonged and heavy periods, finally led to a proper diagnosis after a challenging five-year battle.

Receiving the endometriosis diagnosis brought mixed emotions – relief for validation and frustration for the delayed recognition of my condition. Connecting with an endometriosis specialist was a turning point where I felt truly heard and understood for the first time. The specialist identified past medical oversights and guided me towards appropriate treatment, revealing the need for corrective surgery due to previous errors.

The realization of inadequate healthcare and the importance of spreading awareness prompted me to share my journey and insights as a women’s health practitioner. Through social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, as well as the Finally Found podcast, I have received numerous messages from individuals who faced similar challenges before finding proper support.

While coping with a chronic health condition like endometriosis remains a continuous battle, adopting an anti-inflammatory lifestyle has significantly alleviated my pain and inspired others to explore similar approaches for managing symptoms. Addressing the lack of proper education on menstrual health and advocating for improved workplace support for women are key issues that I aim to tackle through my women’s health brand, Found.

Endometriosis nearly derailed my life, but it also gave it a new purpose. I am grateful for the journey and the opportunity to assist others facing similar struggles. If you are in need of support, remember that you are not alone. Join us at The Finally Found podcast and @found.womenshealth for guidance and community connection.
