“Operation Epic Fury Progress Update Amid US-Iran-Israel Conflict”

Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has provided an update on the progress of “Operation Epic Fury” following a recent announcement by the Israeli military regarding intensified strikes on Tehran. Hegseth, accompanied by General Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is scheduled to hold a Pentagon press briefing at 12pm GMT (8am ET) on Tuesday, marking the 11th day of the ongoing conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran.

Earlier today, Iran issued a threat to “eliminate” US President Donald Trump. Ali Ardashir Larijani, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, emphasized that Iran remains undeterred by threats, cautioning against underestimating the resilience of the Iranian people. This warning came in response to Trump’s social media post vowing severe consequences if Iran disrupts oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz.

General Dan Caine discussed the possibility of escorting vessels through the strategic waterway, indicating a thorough evaluation of various options considering associated risks and resource requirements. Hegseth reiterated Trump’s stance on maintaining the flow of oil through the strait, emphasizing its critical importance.

Caine noted that while Iran has shown adaptability during the conflict, their military capabilities are not surpassing initial US assessments. He acknowledged Iran’s combativeness but affirmed confidence in the US’s military preparedness.

Addressing concerns about civilian casualties, Hegseth highlighted the US’s commitment to minimizing collateral damage, contrasting it with Iran’s alleged deliberate targeting of civilians. Caine pointed to targeted areas in Iran, highlighting significant progress in diminishing Iran’s offensive capabilities, with reduced ballistic missile attacks and drone strikes.

Acknowledging fallen US service members, Caine expressed condolences to their families. Hegseth emphasized that the US-Israeli strikes are not aimed at prolonged nation-building efforts but rather at achieving strategic objectives efficiently and decisively.

Hegseth anticipated heightened military activity, describing the day as the most intense period of strikes on Iran to date. He noted a decrease in Iran’s missile launches over the past 24 hours and reaffirmed the unwavering goals of Operation Epic Fury.

In alignment with President Trump’s assertions, Hegseth declared ongoing success in the operation, emphasizing the dominance of US forces over the adversary. The operation’s progress and strategic decisions are dictated by the US’s timeline and discretion.

Lastly, Larijani’s response to Trump’s warnings reiterated Iran’s defiance, cautioning against underestimating the nation’s resolve. The message was signed by the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, referencing the recent passing of Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Trump’s warnings regarding the Strait of Hormuz were met with a grave response from Iranian officials.
