Netflix has reportedly ended its collaboration with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The couple’s production company, Archewell Productions, had partnered with the streaming service for several years to create content like With Love, Meghan. However, the second season of the show performed poorly in terms of viewership, leading to doubts about the possibility of a third season due to Netflix’s alleged decision.

An insider at Netflix mentioned that the overall sentiment within the organization is that they are moving on from working with Harry and Meghan. Sources close to the couple noted that their relationship with the streaming platform has been less than ideal, despite their initial departure from royal duties in 2020 for a new life in the US.

Although Netflix’s chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, previously expressed enjoyment in collaborating with Harry and Meghan since their deal with Archewell Productions in September 2020, the five-year agreement set to expire in 2025 now appears unlikely to be extended.

A critical assessment in Variety magazine criticized Harry and Meghan’s partnership with Netflix, suggesting that the couple’s repetitive storytelling about their royal exit has become tiresome for the platform. The magazine emphasized that lackluster ratings for shows like With Love, Meghan have contributed to doubts about the sustainability of the partnership.

With the reported conclusion of their association with Netflix, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are exploring new opportunities. They are planning a significant public relations campaign, including a pivotal trip Down Under, marking a return to a location they visited early in their marriage. Meghan continues to develop and sell her As Ever products, as featured in their previous Netflix projects.

Ms. Bajaria reiterated positive sentiments about working with Archewell, highlighting the couple’s engagement in the creative process and their ability to offer a unique global perspective that aligns with Netflix’s audience preferences.
