Israel provided a significant update on the conflict with Iran, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claiming that Iran has lost its ability to enrich uranium or manufacture ballistic missiles. This announcement came about three weeks into the ongoing war.
Netanyahu declared that Iran has been severely weakened, stating confidently, “We are succeeding.” He highlighted the destruction of Iran’s missile and drone stockpiles, emphasizing that the country can no longer produce nuclear weapons or carry out destructive attacks.
In his remarks, Netanyahu mentioned the targeting of facilities that produce missile components and nuclear weapons. However, he did not offer any evidence to support his assertions.
The Prime Minister hinted at the possibility of a ground invasion and suggested that President Donald Trump is contemplating strategies to control or block Iran’s Kharg Island. Netanyahu mentioned various potential actions for this ground operation without providing further details.
Following accusations of involving the United States in the conflict with Iran, Netanyahu denied any influence over President Trump’s decisions. He questioned whether anyone could dictate President Trump’s actions.
Meanwhile, Iran issued threats to target recreational and tourist sites globally, affirming its continued missile development. Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi, Iran’s top military spokesperson, cautioned that parks and tourist destinations worldwide could be compromised for Iran’s adversaries, raising concerns about potential militant actions beyond the Middle East.
In another defiant statement, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, praised Iranians for their resilience during the war, dismissing the notion that targeting top Iranian leaders would destabilize the government. Khamenei commended Iranians for establishing a united defensive front that confounded the enemy with its strength and resolve.
Speculations arose about Mojtaba Khamenei’s health as he has not appeared in public since assuming the role of Supreme Leader after his father’s assassination by Israeli strikes at the conflict’s onset. US and Israeli authorities suspect that the younger Khamenei may have sustained injuries during the attacks.
