Identified as Scarlett Faulkner by local sources, she was discovered with severe head injuries on the R494 in Birdhill by emergency responders. The incident, which occurred in Co Tipperary near Ballina and Killaloe, prompted authorities to close the R494 for forensic examination.

Reports indicate that Ms. Faulkner was attacked by individuals armed with weapons and left for dead around 5:30 pm on Saturday. A member of a respected Traveller family from Limerick city, she was initially treated by paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to University Hospital Limerick (UHL). Subsequently, she was transferred to Cork University Hospital’s head trauma unit, where she remains in serious condition.

Family members have taken to social media, sharing photos of Ms. Faulkner and requesting prayers for her recovery. Gardaí are investigating various theories surrounding the assault, including the possibility of a targeted attack involving a collision between vehicles. Witnesses or individuals with relevant camera footage are urged to come forward to aid the investigation.

Authorities are appealing for information and ask anyone with details to contact Nenagh Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line. Investigations are ongoing as the community rallies in support of Ms. Faulkner’s recovery.
