“Mother and Children Killed in Tragic Bradford House Fire”

A tragic incident unfolded as a mother and her children perished in a devastating house fire in Bradford. Bryonie Gawith, aged 29, along with her children Denisty Birtle (9), Oscar Birtle (5), and Aubree Birtle (22 months), lost their lives in the blaze on August 21, 2025.

Today, on March 6, Sharaz Ali, the ex-partner of Bryonie’s sister Antonia Gawith, received a whole life term for orchestrating the deadly attack. Ali, under the influence of alcohol and drugs, set the fire that claimed the lives of the family members.

The tragic event occurred when Antonia, who was staying with Bryonie that night, was confronted by Ali and another individual, Calum Sunderland, who forcibly entered the house. Despite Antonia’s pleas, Ali proceeded to douse her with petrol, igniting a series of horrifying events.

As the fire engulfed the house, Bryonie made a desperate call to emergency services while trying to shield her children. Despite efforts to save them, the fire spread rapidly, leading to a devastating outcome.

Ali’s actions were driven by a mix of revenge and jealousy, as revealed during the sentencing where it was emphasized that the murders were premeditated. Sunderland, who aided Ali in the crime, expressed remorse and acknowledged his role in the tragic incident.

The family of Bryonie, Denisty, Oscar, and Aubree expressed their profound grief over the loss, emphasizing that no sentence can erase the pain caused by the irreplaceable void left by their untimely deaths. Their memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved them dearly.
