“Morrisons Partners with MFG to Reward EV Drivers”

Morrisons has introduced a major change in its parking facilities to cater to specific drivers. The UK supermarket chain has partnered with Motor Fuel Group (MFG) to offer electric vehicle (EV) owners extra rewards through Morrisons More points when they charge their vehicles at designated car parks.

The new program, launched recently, allows EV drivers to earn 5 More Points for every £1 spent on charging, which can be redeemed at any Morrisons store.

As one of the leading supermarkets in the UK, Morrisons, alongside Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Asda, operates 497 supermarkets and over 1,700 Morrisons Daily convenience and franchise stores.

In line with this collaboration, MFG announced a £105 million investment to upgrade Morrisons’ forecourts, with plans to add 250 ultra-rapid charging bays across Morrisons sites this year.

Matt McLellan, Morrisons’ Group Customer, Marketing, and Data Director, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that it adds value to customers through the Morrisons More program.

The initiative to reward customers with Morrisons More Points for EV charging aligns with the increasing adoption of electric vehicles, providing customers with added benefits for choosing Morrisons.

Martin Symes, EV Director at MFG, highlighted the partnership’s focus on enhancing the EV charging experience for customers. The collaboration forms part of MFG’s broader £400 million EV infrastructure program, aiming to install over 3,000 ultra-rapid chargers at 500 locations across the UK by 2030.

With the growing popularity of EVs, there are now over 1.8 million EV drivers on UK roads, representing about 5.5% of the total number of cars in the country.

Accumulated Morrisons More points can be exchanged for a £5 voucher for every 5,000 points earned.
