Mickey Rourke Evicted Over Unpaid Rent

Mickey Rourke has been evicted from his Los Angeles residence due to unpaid rent following a court ruling. The decision favored the landlord, Eric T. Goldie, after Rourke failed to respond to the eviction notice within the required timeframe under California law. Goldie claimed that Rourke owed him $59,100 in outstanding rent for the property situated on Drexel Avenue.

The court granted immediate possession of the house to Goldie and terminated the lease agreement, prohibiting Rourke from residing there in the future. Despite supporters raising $100,000 through a GoFundMe campaign organized by Kimberly Hines’ assistant, Rourke declined the funds, labeling the initiative a “cruel embarrassment.”

Rourke, who had occupied the three-bedroom house since March 30, 2025, had a monthly rent obligation of $5,200. Goldie sought reimbursement for legal expenses and demanded Rourke fulfill the remainder of the lease agreement due to his failure to adhere to the eviction notice.

While Rourke did not formally respond to the eviction notice, he expressed dissatisfaction with the property conditions to the press, citing issues such as non-functional kitchen fixtures, lack of water in one bathroom, heating problems, malfunctioning air conditioning, and rodent infestation.

The unsuccessful GoFundMe campaign characterized Rourke as an emblem of danger intertwined with vulnerability in American cinema history, portraying him as a figure of strength combined with emotional depth during the late 1970s and 1980s.
