Eight men have admitted to a shocking crime after a British teenager endured a terrifying 30-minute assault, including multiple rapes, in a hotel room in Magaluf. The 18-year-old victim was stripped naked and assaulted while unconscious, as revealed in court documents. Following the assault, one of the men offered the victim for “free sex” to strangers in the hotel corridor. Spanish prosecutors sought individual jail sentences ranging from 18 to 20 years for each of the perpetrators, totaling 151 years. However, the accused men, seven French nationals and one Swiss, opted to plead guilty just before the trial, resulting in reduced total prison terms of over 73 years.
According to the indictment, the men met at the BH Mallorca Resort in Magaluf, where they carried out the assault on the young woman. The suspects engaged in various sexual acts without the victim’s consent while she was semi-conscious or unconscious. Two suspects were extradited following an investigation, while the remaining six were arrested in Majorca.
The assault occurred in August 2023, and the men faced charges including rape, sexual assault, and privacy violations related to sharing videos of the attack. The primary offenders and accomplices were identified in the indictment. The men, aged between 18 and 26 at the time of arrest, were involved in multiple counts of rape and violent acts against the victim.
After the incident, the BH Mallorca Resort condemned the attack and pledged full cooperation with authorities. The Civil Guard closed the investigation into the gang rape, noting the complexity of the case due to the lack of direct relationships between the perpetrators. The suspects were held in custody, with efforts made to prevent their escape from justice.
The ordeal faced by the victim included physical and emotional abuse, with the perpetrators filming and sharing videos of the assault. The men were sentenced to prison terms and are expected to be deported after serving a portion of their sentences.
