A 25-year-old man, Orlando Foster, faces charges for a severe assault involving a pensioner who was stabbed with scissors by an unknown assailant. The charges against Foster include intentional wounding, causing physical harm, and making threats with a bladed weapon in a public setting.
The incident occurred on The Chase in Chatham, where emergency services responded to reports of the elderly woman being attacked with scissors outside a private property. The victim, in her 80s, sustained stab-like injuries and was swiftly treated by paramedics before being transferred to a London hospital for further medical attention. Fortunately, her injuries are not thought to be life-altering or life-threatening.
Following the assault, reports emerged that another individual had been assaulted by the suspect. Police swiftly apprehended Foster at 2.31pm on the same day of the incident. He was later detained in custody and appeared in court at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Kent Police assured the public of heightened patrols in the vicinity as investigations continue, emphasizing that the events appear to be isolated incidents.
