In a post on Instagram, she mentioned that continuing to perform while dealing with a lingering illness and taking antibiotics was not helping her health improve. Amber expressed disappointment at having to step away from her role as Elle Woods but emphasized the importance of prioritizing her well-being.
Amber, known for her roles in Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5, The Great Gatsby, and Pretty Woman adaptations, highlighted the demanding schedule she has been managing recently, moving from one production to another swiftly. She acknowledged the toll it has taken on her body and stressed the importance of listening to one’s health needs.
In the absence of Amber, social media star Hannah Lowther will be standing in for the role of Elle Woods. Hannah gained popularity on TikTok during the pandemic and has since appeared in stage productions like Six and The SpongeBob Musical.
Typically cast in the supporting role of Margot, Hannah has been covering for Amber during her scheduled days off. Despite some tension backstage, with reports of audience favoritism towards Hannah’s portrayal of Elle, both actresses have shown professionalism and mutual respect for each other.
