The 30-year-old personal trainer described the terrifying moment during the flight, stating that he quickly realized the severity of the situation. Despite using an EpiPen and receiving prompt assistance, Jack expressed his fear and uncertainty about the outcome as his throat began to close up, causing breathing difficulties.
Reflecting on the incident, Jack emphasized the need for stricter regulations regarding nut allergies on flights, criticizing the airline for what he perceived as negligence in serving nuts onboard. Following the incident, Jack appeared on Good Morning Britain to raise awareness about the dangers of allergens on flights and advocate for a ban on nuts to prevent similar incidents in the future.
In response to the incident, an Emirates spokesperson expressed regret over Jack’s experience and highlighted the airline’s commitment to customer safety. While Emirates offers special meals to accommodate various dietary needs, including medical requirements, they cannot guarantee a completely nut-free environment onboard.
