Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei’s Fate Uncertain

President Donald Trump has stated that he was informed about Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, potentially not being alive, and urged him to surrender if he is still alive. Trump’s remarks came during a phone conversation with NBC News following Khamenei’s absence in a scheduled public appearance.

Speculation arose as Khamenei failed to make an expected public appearance, prompting Trump to question his status. Trump expressed uncertainty about Khamenei’s well-being, suggesting that if he is indeed alive, he should act in the best interest of his country.

Reports from an undisclosed source in Tehran suggested that Khamenei, aged 56, may have suffered severe injuries, including the loss of a limb, possibly from a U.S. or Israel-led attack. The source detailed Khamenei’s medical treatment and security arrangements, indicating he is receiving care at Sina University Hospital in a heavily guarded area.

While Iranian state media acknowledged Khamenei’s injuries, the claims from the undisclosed source remain unverified due to Iran’s restricted internet access. Türkiye’s foreign minister Hakan Fidan mentioned in an interview that Khamenei is alive and functioning, although the full extent of his injuries remains unclear.
