A hotel security guard acted swiftly to rescue a British teenager who was a victim of gang rape by a group known as the “wolf pack,” leading to their subsequent arrest. The “wolf pack,” comprised of seven French men and one Swiss national, agreed to plea bargain deals totaling just over 73 years in prison after facing the possibility of more than 150 years behind bars if convicted at trial.
The incident occurred at the BH Mallorca Resort in Magaluf, where the British 18-year-old was subjected to a horrific gang rape. The perpetrators filmed the assault, with some members of the group physically abusing the victim while others provided disturbing encouragement. The security guard found the victim in distress in the hotel lobby and alerted the authorities promptly.
Medical examinations revealed bruises on the victim’s arm, likely from being restrained during the assault, as well as a chest injury. The convicted men were ordered to compensate the victim with over €100,000 (£86,313). The court heard that two of the assailants, Khalil Abderrahmen Mejbri and Romain Charles Michel Galatioto, raped the heavily intoxicated victim who had lost consciousness.
Additional perpetrators, including Anthony Guy Gerard Wengler, Haiaiel Ngandjeu Sjamen Tchatchou, and others, also committed sexual offenses during the attack. The group filmed the assault on their mobile phones and shared the videos, aiming to humiliate and violate the victim further. The men received varying prison sentences for their crimes, including sexual assault and privacy violations related to the recordings.
While some of the defendants were granted bail before the trial and remain free, others are still in custody awaiting further court proceedings. The defense lawyers plan to request their deportation from Spain after serving part of their sentences. The young British victim provided a witness statement but did not have to testify in court.
This tragic case highlights the heinous nature of the assault and the swift action taken to bring the perpetrators to justice.
