The former “The Only Way Is Essex” star, aged 33, was discovered deceased in a drain in Phuket, Thailand, where he had been running through a hotel complex frantically before his demise was captured on CCTV.
The events leading up to his death remain unclear, with reports suggesting that he traversed rugged terrain around the hotel, eventually descending into a deep creek and ending up at a nearby construction site where his body was found. Lieutenant Colonel Sutthirak Chuthong of Choeng Thale district station stated, “The circumstances surrounding the death are ambiguous, and the possibility of external involvement cannot be ruled out.”
In the weeks preceding his untimely death, Wright had been chronicling his experiences in Thailand, indulging in beachside cocktails, champagne by infinity pools, and countryside motorcycle rides. A hotel source mentioned that he had been socializing like other guests but went missing around checkout time.
On social media, a close friend of Wright shared heartfelt memories, describing him as an inspiration who lived life to the fullest. Wright’s social media also portrayed his love for biking and fitness, with videos showcasing his motorcycle adventures and gym workouts in Phuket.
