Family of Infamous Criminal Ian Huntley Pleads for His Life

The distressed family of a girl manipulated by infamous criminal Ian Huntley is pleading with medical professionals to save his life, so he can endure punishment in prison. Huntley, a former caretaker, who is currently hospitalized due to a vicious attack in prison, had targeted the girl years before he committed the heinous murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in 2002. Following the assault on him, Huntley has reportedly lost his eyesight.

As Huntley undergoes life-saving treatment in the hospital after being severely injured by a fellow inmate, the girl’s family expresses their hope for his recovery. A family member emphasized their desire for Huntley to survive and face a lifetime of suffering in prison, stating that death would be too lenient.

Huntley is serving a minimum of 40 years for the Soham murders that shocked the nation. Despite denying the murders, Huntley has a history of preying on women, including locking a girl in a room and making demands, as well as engaging in inappropriate relationships with underage girls. Huntley’s arrest in connection with the girls’ disappearance occurred in August 2002.

The violent attack on Huntley, carried out by triple killer Anthony Russell, has left him in a critical condition with a low chance of survival. If Huntley recovers, he will be transferred to Ashworth Hospital, known for its less restrictive environment and focus on mental health treatment. The hospital offers various activities and amenities for patients, aiming to integrate them into social interactions.

The costly facility provides care for over 200 individuals under the Mental Health Act, treating them as patients rather than prisoners. Once Huntley is deemed fit to return to prison, he will be transferred back.
