A map has been released showing the locations where confirmed cases of meningitis have been reported during an outbreak associated with a nightclub in Kent.

Following the outbreak linked to Club Chemistry nightclub in Canterbury, two students have tragically passed away, and the UK Health Security Agency is investigating 18 additional cases. Among the deceased are Juliette, an 18-year-old schoolgirl, and a 21-year-old student from the University of Kent, both succumbing to meningitis B.

Various schools in the Kent region have confirmed cases of meningitis, with even French authorities reporting a case connected to the nightclub in Kent. The UK Health Security Agency was notified of the first meningitis diagnosis on March 13, involving a University of Kent student.

Health officials disclosed that a case of meningitis has been confirmed at Canterbury Christ Church University in Kent. This case is also linked to the Club Chemistry nightclub, according to the UK Health Security Agency.

Several schools in Kent, including Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Faversham, Norton Knatchbull School in Ashford, Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys in Canterbury, and Highworth Grammar School in Ashford, have reported confirmed cases of meningitis.

The UK Health Security Agency is also looking into a case in North Greenwich after a student was hospitalized with meningitis.

In Weymouth, Dorset, a secondary school pupil has contracted meningococcal disease, potentially leading to meningitis. Budmouth Academy sent a letter to parents confirming an isolated case, though it is unclear if it is linked to the Kent outbreak, as per the Dorset Echo.

In France, an individual was hospitalized with meningitis related to the Kent outbreak. The French Ministry of Health reported that the person fell ill in France after returning from England and is currently in stable condition.

French officials stated that no other meningitis cases linked to the Kent outbreak have been identified in France. The Ministry spokesperson assured that appropriate measures have been taken to contain the infection, including informing individuals who had close contact with the patient and offering them antibiotic treatment.
