“Deadly Airstrike Hits Kabul Hospital, 400 Lives Lost”

At least 400 individuals are reported to have lost their lives in an airstrike that specifically targeted a medical facility catering to drug users in Kabul, Afghanistan. The Afghan government has accused Pakistan of carrying out the attack, further escalating the ongoing conflict that commenced in recent weeks and has involved numerous cross-border skirmishes and airstrikes within Afghanistan.

Despite international appeals for a ceasefire, the situation remains unresolved. Pakistan has refuted Afghanistan’s allegations, asserting that their strikes in eastern Afghanistan deliberately avoided civilian areas. Hamdullah Fitrat, Afghanistan’s deputy government spokesman, disclosed that the hospital was struck around 9 pm local time, resulting in significant damage to the 2,000-bed facility. Tragically, the death toll has climbed to 400, with approximately 250 individuals sustaining injuries.

Footage from local TV stations depicted the chaotic aftermath of the attack, with security forces rescuing casualties amidst flames as firefighters battled to contain the blaze. The strike occurred following border clashes that claimed four lives in Afghanistan, as tensions between the neighboring countries continue to mount.

Both sides have exchanged accusations, with Afghanistan condemning Pakistan for allegedly targeting hospitals and civilians, while Pakistan maintains that it aimed at military installations and terrorist support infrastructure to protect its citizens. The United Nations Security Council has urged Afghanistan’s Taliban administration to intensify efforts against terrorism, without explicitly naming Pakistan in its resolution.

The situation remains volatile, with Pakistan asserting its military actions are defensive in nature, targeting Afghan positions and militant hideouts. The ongoing conflict has disrupted a previous ceasefire agreement brokered by Qatar and has resulted in significant casualties on both sides. The need for a peaceful resolution to the escalating hostilities between Afghanistan and Pakistan remains paramount in the region.
