“Convicted murderer Ian Huntley in critical condition after prison attack”

Ian Huntley, the convicted murderer known for the Soham case, is reportedly in critical condition after a violent attack in HMP Frankland. Huntley, aged 52, was rushed to the hospital following the assault where medical staff made significant efforts to save him. Prison officials initially believed he had succumbed to his injuries upon discovery. Recent reports indicate that Huntley’s life support has been terminated after consultations with his mother, Lynda Richards. According to sources, the decision to disconnect the ventilator was made after brain tests revealed he was in a vegetative state.

A source revealed that Huntley is now considered to be “effectively dead” and is nearing the end, with no one expressing remorse over his condition, not even his mother, who has acknowledged the situation. Huntley had previously suffered severe head injuries from a metal pole attack, leaving him with a minimal chance of survival.

Huntley, a double murderer serving a life sentence for the killings of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, will not be eligible for parole until 2042. The Ministry of Justice declined to provide any comments on the situation. Huntley was transported to the hospital in a coma via ambulance, with armed police securing the route. He remains under constant guard by armed officers at the medical facility.

Updates from Durham Constabulary confirm that Huntley’s condition remains serious. Despite efforts to stabilize him during transport, Huntley’s health continues to be a cause for concern.
